Today is Day 15 in our 31 day blogging challenge. Thank you for sticking it out. We've reached the halfway point and no one is as surprised as I am that I'm stilling blogging.
Today I've got a quote that I think many of us can relate to, especially with all that is happening in the world today.
"the whole world has an aching heart"-
This line comes from the movie Because of Winn Dixie, which was based on the book by Kate DiCamillo.
When the line is spoken the character Gloria is trying to explain to Opal that people all have some kind of pain in the life.
It's not just people that have pain, the line is true....our whole world is in pain.
Government shut downs.
Cancer
Gangs
School shootings
Missing children
War
Terrorists
Bad economy
The list could go on and on.
Let's face it our world is a mess. Most people would agree with that. What they don't agree on, is the reason for the mess. Everyone seems to be pointing the finger at everyone else. No one wants to see the real reason for the aching of this world.
Sin.
Romans 8:22 "For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers the pains of childbirth together until now” (NASB)
When Adam and Eve sinned, it not only changed their lives, it changed the whole world.
God never meant for us to live in a world like the one we are living.
It wasn't his plan for people to suffer daily the way they do.
One bad decision changed it all.
And so the world, and all of us in it, continue to ache.
